Mumbai Indians’ Issy Wong creates history in WPL 2023, succeeds in achieving league’s first hat-trick

In the eliminator match of the Women’s Premier League 2023, Mumbai Indians have got an entry in the final of the league on the basis of a bang performance by the batsmen and bowlers. The entire league has been great for Mumbai Indians. Barring the last few matches, the team has dominated the entire league. Mumbai Indians also have strong chances of winning the final. Mumbai has emerged as the strongest team on the basis of excellent performance from Mumbai batsman to their bowlers.

Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians fast bowler Issy Wong has created history by playing in the Women’s Premier League. Issy Wong has become the first player to take a hat-trick in the league. He achieved this feat in the eliminator match played against UP Warriors on 24 March. Issy Wong made history by dismissing three consecutive batsmen in the 13th over of the match against UP Warriors.

Issy Wong took the wickets of UP’s Kiran Navgire, Simran Sheikh and Sophie Ecclestone in the 13th over. UP’s innings faltered due to the taking of these three wickets. These three wickets proved important for Mumbai. After the fall of these three wickets, the UP team could not return to the match. Thanks to these wickets, Mumbai won the match by 72 runs and secured a place in the final.
