Mumbai Indians players and coaching members praised Rohit Sharma’s captaincy

Mumbai Rohit Sharma was lauded by the players and coaching staff of the five-time IPL champion team on Sunday for completing 10 years as captain of Mumbai Indians. Rohit was handed over the reins of captaincy on April 24, 2013. Under his leadership, the team became champions in 2013, 2015, 2017, 2019 and 2020. On the eve of the match with Rajasthan Royals, the team and coaching members talked about Rohit’s contribution in 10 years as captain.

The team’s batting coach Kieron Pollard said, “He has improved a lot as a captain.” His leadership skills have improved. Pollard, who was associated with the Mumbai team as a player for a long time before becoming a coach, said, “He was given the responsibility of captaincy in the middle of the 2013 season. He was very young at that time. Pollard was part of the team when Rohit was handed over the captaincy. He said that Rohit’s biggest specialty is quick learning.

The team’s bowling coach Shane Bond described his career as ‘fantastic’ and said, “He is a huge figure in our team on and off the field.” His job in leading the team has been fantastic. Suryakumar Yadav, one of the main batsmen of the Mumbai team, said that Rohit’s journey has been an incredible story.

He said, “This is his 10th year as captain and that too for a franchise like Mumbai Indians. I think this is a very, very great achievement. This is a story in itself. The franchise won five trophies under his captaincy. “Australian all-rounder Cameron Green said,” Rohit’s contribution has been immense in the success that Mumbai has achieved.
