Mumbai Indians win WPL 2023, beat Gujarat Giants by 55 wickets

In the inaugural season of the Women’s Premier League, Mumbai Indians have proved themselves to be the most successful team with consistent performances. Mumbai has also achieved the feat of winning five consecutive matches by defeating the Gujarat Giants team by 55 runs while performing with a bang. With this win, Mumbai Indians became the first team to qualify for the playoffs. In the points table too, the Mumbai team has ten points.

Both the teams went to play the match at Brabourne Stadium at 7.30 pm. Harmanpreet Kaur scored an excellent half-century against Gujarat in this match, in which the Gujarat team got swept away. Batting first after winning the toss, the Mumbai team gave Gujarat a target of 163 runs, which Gujarat could not achieve. The Gujarat team could only score 107 runs. The chasing team could score 107 runs losing nine wickets in 20 overs.

Batting first, the Mumbai team scored 162 runs at the loss of 6 wickets. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur once again played the captaincy innings, and got a half-century with her bat. He scored 51 runs in 30 balls at a strike rate of 170 with the help of two sixes and seven fours. At the same time, Yastika Bhatia also scored a strong 44 and Nat Sewer Brunt scored 36 runs. There was a 74-run partnership between the two for the second wicket. In bowling, Ashley Gardner took Gujarat’s three wickets to the pavilion.

Gujarat could not do wonders
