National Billiards Championship: Brijesh Damani won the National Billiards Championship

New Delhi. Asian Games silver medalist Brijesh Damani won the National Billiards Championship for the first time by defeating his Petroleum Sports Promotion Board (PSPB) teammate Dhruv Sitwala in Indore. The final match was tied at 2-2 after four games after which Brijesh played brilliantly to take a 4-3 lead. He eventually dominated the eighth game as well and won the title 5-3.

Brijesh had earlier defeated Karnataka’s B Bhaskar in the quarterfinals and world 6Red champion S Srikrishna in the semifinals. Brijesh has so far won six international medals, including a silver medal at the 2010 Guangzhou Asian Games.
