Now 85 lakh foreign cigarettes worth 17 crores were found from Mundra Port, know the whole matter

In September 2021, a joint operation by the DRI and Customs had seized heroin in two containers that had arrived from Afghanistan. Cigarettes worth 17 crores were seized from Mundra Port in Gujarat. According to a report, 850 cartons of cigarettes worth Rs 17 crore have been recovered from Mundra Port. DRI today seized cigarettes worth Rs 17 crore internationally. The number of cigarettes filled in 850 cartons is about 86.5 lakh. According to DRI, this consignment was caught on 11th. Three people have also been arrested with consignment of cigarettes. Their interrogation is still going on, it is being said that more information will probably be available after a day or two.

A large quantity of drugs have been recovered at Mundra. Not once but many times drugs have been recovered in this port. Drug consignments worth billions of rupees have arrived at Mundra Port so far. Surprisingly, despite every time a consignment of drugs is caught, no action is taken at the port.

Heroin caught in two containers

In September 2021, a joint operation by DRI and Customs caught heroin in two containers from Afghanistan. These containers had arrived at the DP World Terminal at Mundra Port. Many times banned items have been seized from the port but the biggest consignment was of heroin. Its value in the international market is 21 thousand crores. 3,000 kg of heroin was recovered from two containers imported from Afghanistan. The consignment was imported by a company from Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh and was said to be talcum powder.
