Dehradun: After the first case of the Omicron variant of the novel coronavirus was detected in Uttarakhand on Wednesday, officials warned of imposing night curfew and COVID restrictions in the state if required. A meeting on measures to contain the spread of the virus was held under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary after an Omicron case was detected in Dehradun on 22 December. District Collectors and Chief Medical Officers have been directed to take proper preparedness measures like availability of beds with oxygen and medicines in hospitals. The Omicron version of Corona was confirmed in South Africa. After that it spread to different countries. Corona cases are increasing in all countries. Talking about India, Omicron cases have been seen more in Delhi and Maharashtra.

It was also decided to expedite door-to-door surveys for COVID testing and vaccination, the statement said. If required, the imposition of night curfew and COVID restrictions in the state will be discussed. India has registered more than 200 omicron cases so far. Night curfew has been announced in some states of India. Recently, the Government of India has held a meeting in this regard. The Delhi government is also working hard to contain the spread of the virus. The second wave of Corona had broken the country.
