On the occasion of Army Day, Indian Army’s new jersey launched, soldiers march in new combat uniform

New Delhi: On Saturday 15 January, the new combat uniform of the Indian Army personnel was unveiled to the Indians for the first time on the occasion of the 74th Raising Day of the Defense Force. Commandos of the Parachute Regiment march in a parade at the ground in Delhi Cantt. Uniforms unveiled in public for the first time

Commandos of the Indian Army’s Parachute Regiment marching during the Army Day Parade in the new digital combat uniform of the Indian Army. This is the first time the uniform has been publicly unveiled. ANI captioned that the new uniform, which replaces the force’s decades-old combat design, now features a digital camouflage pattern, similar to that used by the British Army. The new uniform is likely to be introduced in the Indian Army by August this year.

Officials earlier said that at the recently held Army Commanders’ Conference, it was decided to bring in the new combat outfit for the force. The new camouflage uniform is completely different from the existing dress and the shirt will not need to be tucked in by soldiers. It is designed with the aim of keeping soldiers warm and comfortable in harsh climatic conditions as well as the clear camouflage pattern to help them with survival techniques.
