One arrested for destroying Portuguese flag put up by Cristiano Ronaldo supporters
Kannur (Kerala). A man has been arrested for allegedly destroying a Portuguese flag put up by the roadside in Panur area here by fans of football legend Cristiano Ronaldo ahead of the FIFA World Cup. The video of tearing the flag of this European country went viral on social media.

Some claim that the man is allegedly a supporter of the BJP and had mistaken it for the flag of the political party Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI).

The SDPI was formed by the banned Islamic outfit Popular Front of India (PFI) a decade ago. The police, however, said that the person may have been a supporter of the BJP, but he acted in an inebriated condition. Football has risen in Kerala ahead of the FIFA World Cup to be held in Qatar.
