Paris Olympic quota to be eyed with 66 Indians in Cairo World Cup Pistol and Rifle Shooters Cup

Olympic silver medalists Vijay Kumar, Manu Bhaker and Anjum Moudgil are among 66 Indian shooters who will compete to secure over 30 quotas for the Paris Olympics at the ISSF World Championships in Rifle/Pistol starting in Cairo on Thursday. A total of 32 quota places for the Paris Olympics 2024 are at stake in the competition.

 Four quota places each will be at stake in the four individual events of the Olympic men’s and women’s categories. The competition will run till 27 October. A total of 70 events will be organized in senior and junior categories including 10 Olympic events. Medals will be awarded in only one event on the first day of competitions. Esha Singh, Namya Kapoor and Vibhuti Bhatia will represent India in this Junior Women’s 25m Pistol Team event. Six countries will face each other and India will be hoping for a good start in the presence of three in-form players.

China, Germany, Ukraine, Korea and the US will also compete in the event. Also part of the team is London Olympic silver medalist Vijay Kumar who is making a comeback. Tokyo Olympics participants Anjum Moudgil, Manu Bhaker, Elavenil Valarivan and Aishwarya Pratap Singh Tomar will also compete in Cairo.
