Election strategist Prashant Kishor is declared on a break. He had said at the time of West Bengal election results that he would no longer do the work of election management or strategy making for the parties. He is not associated with any political party. But his company I-PAC i.e. Indian Political Action Committee is working for different parties in many states. Although he describes himself as separate from this company, yet largely he and his company are currently working for Mamata Banerjee’s Trinamool Congress. Recently, he gave an interview to an English channel, in which he was asked some questions in the rapid fire round and in answering at least two questions, he gave preference to Nitish Kumar over all other leaders of the country. He was asked which of these leaders he would like to work with again – Rahul Gandhi, Narendra Modi, Mamta Banerjee and Nitish Kumar, his answer was Nitish Kumar. In another question, he was asked to choose between two – Arvind Kejriwal and Nitish Kumar and he again chose Nitish Kumar.
A question was also asked to him that with whom he would not like to work again, then out of the four options, he opted for Captain Amarinder Singh. Think, Amarinder Singh had appointed him as his advisor when he was the Chief Minister, Prashant Kishor has not accepted the post and has also said that he would not like to work with him again, whereas Nitish Kumar had expelled him from his party and went public. Roop had said that he had included Prashant Kishor in his party at the behest of Amit Shah. Despite this, he is saying that he would like to work with Nitish Kumar again.
Is Prashant Kishor showing goodwill towards Nitish Kumar in this way just because he is from Bihar or does he still see some potential in Nitish? Keep in mind that in the 2015 assembly elections, Prashant had done the impossible feat of bringing Lalu Prasad and Nitish together and got both of them victorious. After that Nitish was considered as an alternative to Narendra Modi in the whole country. Is Prashant Kishor still seeing the potential in Nitish that he can be an alternative to Modi? Mamata Banerjee’s Bengali identity may stand in her way and Sharad Pawar’s age and health will stand in her way. In such a situation, can Nitish be made the face of Modi’s competition in 2024?
