Mayank opened up against Jason Behrendorff and Madhwal with two fours each in the third and fifth overs. Vivrant completed the same feat in the fourth and sixth overs against Chris Jordan (one wicket for 42 runs) and Piyush Chawla and completed a half-century partnership in the powerplay for the first wicket.
