Punjab Assembly Elections 2022: AAP announces 5 more candidates for upcoming elections

New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Monday released its seventh list with five candidates for the upcoming Punjab Assembly elections. The party has so far announced the names of 101 candidates for 117 seats in the state. As per the list, Sukhjinder Raj Singh Lalli will contest from Majithia Majithia, Dr Ajay Gupta from Amritsar Central, Dr Kashmir Singh Sohal from Tarn Taran, Surinder Singh Sodhi from Jalandhar Cantt and Dr Baljit Kaur from Malout. AAP emerged as the second largest party

In the 2017 Punjab Assembly elections, the Congress won an absolute majority in the state by winning 77 seats and ousted the SAD-BJP government after 10 years. The Aam Aadmi Party has emerged as the second largest party by winning 20 seats in the 117-member Punjab Assembly. Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) managed to win only 15 seats, while BJP got 3 seats.

Political battle of Punjab (assembly election)

Assembly elections are due early this year. All the parties are working hard for the assembly elections. Looking at the polls of Punjab, it seems that the Aam Aadmi Party is emerging. It was earlier resigned by the former Chief Minister of Punjab. After which Amarinder Singh announced to form his new party. It was also heard that Captain Amarinder Singh is thinking of contesting the elections with the BJP. At present, the Chief Minister of Punjab is Charanjit Singh Channi. (assembly election)
