The Ukrainian side said it is very hopeful that a ceasefire can be achieved in the short term, he added. The fourth round of negotiations between the Ukrainian and Russian delegations began on Monday via video link and continued until today.

On the other hand, Turkey and Poland agreed to redouble diplomatic efforts to end the Ukrainian crisis, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan reported.

“We mainly discussed the developments in Ukraine and Russia, as well as our bilateral relations. As two NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization) allies, we had a detailed exchange of views. In this process, we will continue our consultations and cooperation with Poland. Erdogan said at a joint press conference with his Polish counterpart Andrzej Duda in the Turkish capital of Ankara.

Duda visited Turkey on Wednesday to discuss ways to defuse the conflict between Russia and Ukraine with the Turkish president. Erdogan welcomed the Polish president in Ankara as part of Turkey’s mediation efforts to secure a ceasefire in Ukraine.
