Registration for Precaution Dose begins

New Delhi. The registration for the third ie precaution dose of the anti-coronavirus vaccine started on Saturday. Online appointment for this has started from Saturday evening. Apart from this, offline registration can also be done by visiting the vaccination center. Precaution doses will be given to three priority groups in the country. This includes health workers, frontline workers and elderly people above 60 years of age who have a serious illness. The third dose will be administered to these people from Monday.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced about this on 25 December and said that from January 3, adolescents in the age group of 15 to 18 years will get the first dose and from January 10, three groups will start getting the preconception dose. According to the guidelines issued by the government to the seriously ill elderly, the precaution dose will be given after nine months from the date of administering the second dose of corona vaccine.

Whenever the person concerned becomes eligible for a precaution dose, the Covin app will send a message to inform him that he has to take the third dose or precaution dose. The government has issued a list of 22 diseases, due to which people above 60 years of age can get the third dose. The Union Health Ministry has also said that sick elderly people will not need to give any certificate from the doctor for precaution dosage. However, such people have been asked to consult a doctor.
