Richa jumped 21 places in the rankings for batsmen
Indian wicket-keeper batsman Richa Ghosh on Friday jumped 21 places to reach the 22nd position in the latest ICC Women’s T20 International rankings for batsmen. Richa’s impressive performance in the recently concluded T20 World Cup made her the only Indian to be included in the ‘Most Valuable Team’ of the tournament. The 19-year-old Richa from Siliguri scored 136 runs at an average of 68 and was the second highest run-scorer after Smriti Mandhana (151 runs).
He played three unbeaten innings which included 31 against Pakistan, 44 against West Indies and 47 against England. The biggest jumps in the rankings were made by Vishmi Gunaratne of Sri Lanka and spinner Charlie Dean of England. Gunaratne jumped 95 places to reach 169th position. She played in the Women’s T20 World Cup only after playing nine T20 Internationals for Sri Lanka. Off-spinner Charlie Dean has jumped 77 places to reach 50th in the bowlers’ rankings, while he has jumped 103 places to reach 77th in the all-rounders’ rankings.
