Senior Men’s and Women’s National Football Championship Groups Announced
The Senior Men’s and Women’s National Football Championships will be played in a new format in which all the 36 states will compete in six groups, giving them a chance to reach the finals. The semi-finals and finals of the 76th Senior Men’s National Championship for the Santosh Trophy will be held in Saudi Arabia. The draws for the men’s and women’s senior national championships were held here on Friday. The top teams from the six groups and the three best placed second teams will qualify for the final round of the Senior Men’s National Championship.
Apart from the top teams in the women’s championship, the four best second-placed teams will advance to the final round. Group A: Karnataka, Delhi, Gujarat, Uttarakhand, Tripura, Leh and Ladakh for the Santosh Trophy for the 76th National Football Championship. Group Two: Kerala, Mizoram, Rajasthan, Bihar, Andhra Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir. Group Three: Goa, Assam, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland.
Group Four: West Bengal, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Daman and Dadar, Haryana. Group Five: Meghalaya, Odisha, Sikkim, Telangana, Puducherry, Andaman and Nicobar. Group Six: Punjab, Manipur, Jharkhand, Chandigarh, Himachal Pradesh, Lakshadweep. Group A: Haryana, Punjab, Sikkim, Telangana, Meghalaya, Nagaland for the 76th Senior Women’s National Football Championship. Group Two: Mizoram, Maharashtra, Kerala, Puducherry, Uttarakhand, Chandigarh. Group Three: Odisha, Goa, Himachal Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Rajasthan, Tripura.
