Patna. Politics has intensified in Bihar regarding caste census. While Nitish Kumar is adamant on conducting caste census on one hand, BJP is in a state of confusion. The politics of the state has heated up after the main opposition party Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) on Thursday offered to support Chief Minister Nitish Kumar in matters of interest to Bihar. RJD state president Jagdanand Singh said on Thursday that if the BJP and its ministers are not supporting the government on the caste census, then Nitish should remove them. He also said that RJD will support JDU on the decision in the interest of Bihar.
After this statement of RJD leader, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) did not delay in showing ‘mirror’ to RJD. BJP spokesperson and National General Secretary of OBC Morcha Nikhil Anand said that BJP cannot stop RJD from having pleasant dreams during the day. He said that the people of RJD are restless for power. He asked whether Nitish Kumar had forgotten the issues on which RJD was thrown out of the alliance. He said that it seems that there has been a shortage of funds in the RJD, due to which they are restless to join the government. He said that the RJD has no political issues left with it, due to which they are giving various ‘offers’.
Earlier, RJD’s state president Jagdanand Singh clearly said in a press conference held in Patna that there is a need to work on the caste census. Pointing to the BJP, he said, sack those who are opposing. He said that we are not going to back down on this issue.
Referring to the demand for special category status, Singh said that this has been an old demand of RJD. He told the Chief Minister in a clear tone that whether Bihar has special status or the issue of caste census, RJD is with you in these two matters. He said that RJD will stand with Nitish on caste census, but Nitish’s allies keeping different opinion on census, ministers who do not support Nitish Kumar’s policy should be removed. It is under the jurisdiction of the Chief Minister.
