Sania Mirza did wonders in her last Australian Open, made it to the finals with Rohan Bopanna

India’s pair of Sania Mirza and Rohan Bopanna has made it to the final match of Australian Open. Both have defeated the pair of Neil Skupski of Great Britain and Desirea Krawczyk of America in the semi-finals of the mixed doubles event of Australian Open.

In the semi-finals, Sania and Rohan defeated their opponents 7-6, 6-7 (10-6) to enter the final. Earlier, the pair of Sania Mirza and Rohan Bopanna defeated the Latvian and Spanish pair of Jelena Ostapenko and David Vega Hernandez in the quarterfinals. The semi-final match between the two lasted for one hour and 52 minutes.

Significantly, this is going to be Sania Mirza’s last Grand Slam. Heading into this final Grand Slam, the duo is expected to win the final and give Sania the most spectacular send-off. The whole country wants Sania Mirza and Rohan Bopanna to win this last Grand Slam together.

Let us inform that Sania Mirza and Rohan Bopanna together won the mixed doubles title in the French Open in the year 2017 as well. On the other hand, Sania Mirza had earlier won the mixed doubles title with Mahesh Bhupathi at the Australian Open in 2009. Sania has won three women’s doubles and as many mixed doubles Grand Slam titles in her career while Bopanna has won one mixed doubles major.
