Sarfaraz Khan will not be able to participate in this special tournament, fans were shocked

Kolkata. Star Mumbai batsman Sarfaraz Khan has been ruled out of the Irani Cup where he was supposed to represent Rest of India due to an injury to his left index finger at the Delhi Capitals camp. Sarfaraz did not take part in the warm-up match at Eden Gardens on Sunday. The Irani Cup match will be played in Gwalior from March 1. Due to the injury, Sarfraz was wearing a protective fiber cast on his finger and did not bat or field. However, he was helping his teammates by giving them energy drinks.

Sarfraz’s Mumbai team-mate Prithvi Shaw went on the offensive during the practice match, playing shots all around the ground in the presence of guide Sourav Ganguly and assistant coach Pravin Amre. Prithvi, however, left the field after the batting session and went to the airport to fly to Bengaluru. He has to take part in the camp at the National Cricket Academy (NCA). Out of the Indian team and having barely played domestic cricket due to injury, veteran Ishant Sharma did not look in his best form during the warm-up match.

He bowled for both the teams in the practice match. Ishant, who played just one Ranji game this season, was ruled out for the rest of the season due to a hamstring injury. His weight also showed a slight increase. He had a long discussion with his former national and Kolkata Knight Riders teammate Ganguly in between bowling. The batsmen faced Ishant’s bowling with ease. With almost a month left for the start of the IPL, Ishant will have to work hard to get match fit. The lack of pace in his bowling is also a matter of concern. Among the lesser-known players, Bengal’s Abhishek Porel impressed with his ability to play big shots.
