Sharma Ahlawat finished tied 13th, Marcel Siem won the title

Shubhankar Sharma and Vir Ahlawat finished tied-13th among Indian players at the Hero Indian Open golf, while Germany’s Marcel Siem pipped compatriot Yannick Paul to clinch the title. Sharma, a two-time DP World Tour winner, carded an impressive 68 in the final round with six birdies and two bogeys while Ahlawat shot one-over 73. The score of both of them was 284. Siem shot a four-under 68 on the final day to beat Paul (70) by one shot and win his fifth title on the ‘DP World Tour’.

India’s Angad Cheema (74) was tied for second after the second day but quadruple bogeyed the last hole (four shots over par) to drop out of the top 10. He finished tied-20th with Honey Baisoya (73). Other Indians included Yuvraj Sandhu (70) tied 25th with a score of 288, Manu Gandas (74) tied 32nd, Sachin Baisoya (75) and S Chikkarangappa (72) tied 37th, Karthik Sharma (75) tied 42nd and Gaganjeet Bhullar (77) ) finished tied for 44th. Veteran SSP Chaurasia (75) and Shiv Kapur (77) finished tied-48th with scores of six-over 294.
