Kanpur | Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently inaugurated the Kanpur Metro Rail Project, a 9 km priority metro train ride from IIT to Motijheel. Before boarding the metro, PM Modi also bought a ticket for Kanpur Metro Rail and was seen holding his ticket in his hand while entering the metro platform. He was accompanied by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri. ( PM bought tickets)

Many users on various social media websites lauded PM Modi’s move. BJP leader Sambit Patra also took to Twitter to commend the Prime Minister for buying the ticket. Patra tweeted that Simplicity at its peak! PM Modi bought a ticket to travel in Kanpur Metro. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, earlier in the day, inaugurated the completed section of the Kanpur Metro Rail Project and took a Metro ride. The entire 9 km long stretch of Kanpur Metro Rail Project spans from IIT Kanpur to Moti Jheel. The entire length of the Kanpur Metro Rail Project is 32 km and is being built at a cost of over Rs 11,000 crore. Kanpur Metro is going to be the fastest metro project in the country.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath began construction work on the Kanpur Metro project on November 15, 2019, and in less than two years, on November 10, 2021, a trial run on the 9 km IIT to Motijheel Priority Corridor took place. Apart from the metro rail project, the Prime Minister also inaugurated the Bina-Panki multiproduct pipeline project. According to the PMO, the 356-km-long Bina-Panki multiproduct pipeline project has a capacity of about 3.45 million metric tonnes per annum. ( PM bought tickets)
