Sindhu returns to top five, Prannoy climbs to 12th spot in latest BWF rankings
Two-time Olympic medalist PV Sindhu and Thomas Cup winning team HS Prannoy jumped one place each in women’s and men’s singles to fifth and 12th respectively in the Badminton World Federation (BWF) world rankings released on Tuesday. The women’s doubles pair of Trisha Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand and the women’s doubles pair of Ishaan Bhatnagar and Tanisha Crasto managed to achieve career-best rankings of 27th and 29th respectively. The women’s doubles pair of Ashwini Ponnappa and N Sikki Reddy, however, slipped to the 24th spot. Two-time Commonwealth Games gold medalist Saina Nehwal has also lost a place in the women’s singles rankings to be at 33rd position.
