Mooney, Healy hit unbeaten half-centuries as Australia beat Sri Lanka

Beth Mooney and Alyssa Healy struck unbeaten half-centuries as defending champions Australia almost stormed into the semi-finals of the Women’s T20 World Cup with a ten-wicket win over Sri Lanka. Medium pacer Megan Shutt took four for 24 as Australia bowled first to restrict Sri Lanka to 112 for eight. In reply, Australia scored 15. Achieved the target in 5 overs. Healy and Mooney shared an unbeaten partnership of 113 runs.

Mooney remained unbeaten on 56 off 53 balls with the help of seven fours and Healy scored 54 off 43 balls with the help of six fours and a six. Now Australia are on top of Group One after winning all the three matches while Sri Lanka are in second place after winning two out of three matches. In the last match, Australia will face hosts South Africa while Sri Lanka will play New Zealand. For Sri Lanka, Harshita Samarawickrama (34) and captain Chamari Atapattu (16) shared a 30-run partnership in 29 balls. Samarawickrama faced 40 balls and hit three fours in his innings. He added 39 runs with Vishmi Gunaratne (24). Alyssa Healy gets Samarawickrama stumped by Grace Harris. After this Sri Lankan wickets kept falling continuously.
