Snowfall increased in Devbhoomi, fresh snowfall in Badrinath temple and Auli hill station in Uttarakhand
Chamoli: Badrinath temple and Auli hill station located in the high altitude areas of Chamoli district in Uttarakhand received fresh snowfall in the early hours of Monday. Due to which the cold has increased in the plains. Due to snowfall in the mountainous areas, the cold increases in the plains or low-lying areas. The Badrinath Temple and Auli Hill Station are anyway situated at a very high altitude. Due to which it remains cold there even in summers. In winter the temperature is below zero. The temperature recorded was minus 2.89 degrees Celsius.
The hilly areas of Auli recorded minus 2.89 degree Celsius at around 5.30 am on Monday. Meanwhile, the state capital Dehradun on Sunday recorded a minimum temperature of 6 degrees Celsius, which is 1 degree below the normal temperature at this time of the year. The main Badrinath temple among the four dhams is open only for six months in a whole year. Opens near Akshaya Tritiya and closes near Deepawali. Sometimes snowfall is seen here only in summer. It is not possible to go here in winter, due to which the Badrinath temple remains closed.

Temperature likely to remain below normal (snowfall in uttrakhand)
According to the extended period forecast of the IMD, very light to very light rain or snow is very likely to occur at few places during this week and the maximum temperatures during this week are very likely to remain below normal. Snowfall at Badrinath Temple and Auli Hill Station has brought down fog and temperature in the plains. Light rain and fog have been observed at some places.
