Sonia upset over lapse in Modi’s security

New Delhi. Congress party president Sonia Gandhi is said to be upset over the lapse in the security of Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his Punjab tour. He took full information about the incident from the Chief Minister of the state Charanjit Singh Channi on Thursday. It is being told that Sonia Gandhi told Channi that Modi is the Prime Minister of the entire country, so full care should be taken of his security. At the same time, Sonia also told the Chief Minister that action should be taken against whoever is responsible in this matter.

Earlier, Chief Minister Channi told Sonia Gandhi that the Punjab government was getting the entire matter investigated. An inquiry committee has been formed for this, comprising retired judge Justice Mehtab Singh Gill and state home secretary Anurag Verma. The committee has been asked to submit its report in three days. He said that the government will take action against whoever is responsible for the lapse in the security of the Prime Minister.

However, on the other hand, the Chief Minister is denying that there was any mistake. He told a press conference on Wednesday soon after the incident that there was no security lapse and there was no threat to the prime minister. He said that it was PM Modi who made the route to go by road at the last moment. Now Channi is also cashing in the election rallies that Punjab and Punjabis are being defamed on the pretext of lapse in PM’s security.
