South Africa vs India, ODI | Washington Sundar included in Indian ODI squad in place of Deepak Chahar
Ranchi. Spin bowling all-rounder Washington Sundar has been included in the Indian squad for the remaining two ODIs of the three-match series against South Africa in place of injured Deepak Chahar. The second ODI of the series will be played here on Sunday. After winning the opening match in South Africa, they took a 1-0 lead. According to a release from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), “The All India Senior Selection Committee has named Washington Sundar in place of Deepak Chahar for the remainder of the ODI series against South Africa.”

He said, “Chahar had a stiffness in his back after the third and final T20 match against South Africa in Indore. He could not make it to India’s playing XI in the first ODI played in Lucknow due to this problem. As India’s main team has left for Australia for the T20 World Cup, most of the alternate players are in the Shikhar Dhawan-led side against South Africa. Sundar, who has been plagued by injury in his career so far, played his last ODI in February this year.

He has played four Tests, four ODIs and 31 T20 Internationals for India.
