Spinners give Vidarbha first innings lead against Railways

Left-arm spinner Aditya Sarwate (5/53) and off-spinner Akshay Wakhre (5/60) bundled out Railways for 161 as they bundled out Vidarbha for 52 in the first innings on the second day of their Ranji Trophy Group D match here on Wednesday. In the second match of the group being played in Mohali, Punjab declared against Chandigarh at 586 for four on the basis of double centuries of Prabhsimran Singh (202) and century innings of Abhishek Sharma (100) and Mandeep Singh (128 not out). Gave. Chandigarh have scored 62 runs for two wickets till the end of the day’s play. In reply to Gujarat’s first innings 271 in Agartala, Tripura scored 244 for six in 83 overs. Shankar Pal (57) and Sudip Chatterjee (58) scored half-centuries for the home side. In another group match, Madhya Pradesh forced Jammu and Kashmir to follow on despite scoring 308 runs in the first innings. Avesh Khan’s five-wicket haul helped Madhya Pradesh bundle out Jammu and Kashmir’s first innings for 98 runs. Jammu is in danger of an innings defeat as the team has lost seven wickets for just 54 runs in the second innings.
