Stimac announces squad for camp ahead of three-nation series

Indian football team coach Igor Stimac has named forward duo of Sunil Chhetri and Manvir Singh in a 23-member provisional squad for the national camp starting here on Wednesday. The Indian team will attend a five-day camp in Kolkata before traveling to Imphal for the three-nation tournament. The tournament will be held from March 22 to 28 at the Khuman Lampak Stadium. Apart from India, teams from Myanmar and Kyrgyz Republic will participate in it.

The Indian team for the tournament will be announced after the final of the Indian Super League (ISL) (March 18). Of the 23 selected for the camp, 14 will reach here on Wednesday while the other nine (players from Bengaluru FC and ATK Mohun Bagan FC) will arrive on March 19, a day after the ISL final. In addition, 11 players have also been designated as reserves, and will be called up for the camp if required.

Squad for the camp: Goalkeepers: Gurpreet Singh Sandhu, Phurba Lachenpa Tempa, Amarinder Singh. Defenders: Sandesh Jhingan, Roshan Singh, Anwar Ali, Akash Mishra, Chinglensana Konesham, Rahul Bheke, Mehtab Singh, Glan Martins. Midfielders: Suresh Wangjam, Rohit Kumar, Anirudh Thapa, Brandon Fernandes, Yasir Mohammed, Ritwik Das, Jackson Singh, Lallinjuala Chhangte, Bipin Singh. Forwards: Manveer Singh, Sunil Chhetri, Shivshakthi Narayanan.
