Sunil Gavaskar met badminton star Lakshya Sen, told his new hero

New Delhi. Lakshya Sen could not believe his eyes when legendary cricketer Sunil Gavaskar turned up at the Prakash Padukone Badminton Academy (PPBA) in Bengaluru to meet him and the young players. The 73-year-old Gavaskar, a member of India’s 1983 World Cup-winning cricket team, arrived at the academy on Thursday during his regular visit to the city. PPBA co-founder, director and head coach Vimal Kumar said he had a meeting in Bengaluru and decided to meet the young rising kids of the academy. Badminton and cricket are his two favorite sports. He stayed here with us for about an hour.
Gavaskar later posted his photo with Lakshya Sen on Instagram and captioned it as Lakshya Sen, my new badminton hero after Prakash Padukone. Legendary cricketer Gavaskar has praised Padukone many times during his cricket commentary and considers him one of the greatest players of India. Sen was among India’s best performers in 2022. He said that he too was surprised to see him. Sen said, “It feels great to hear such things from such a big player. To be honest, I was quite surprised too.
