Sunita Duggal tried her hand in politics with VRS, defeated this Congress veteran and reached Lok Sabha
New Delhi. BJP MP Sunita Duggal represents the Sirsa Lok Sabha seat of Haryana. He made headlines in the 2019 general elections by defeating the then Haryana Pradesh Congress President Ashok Tanwar. At that time, she became MP for the first time defeating Ashok Tanwar by 3,09,918 votes.
Who is Sunita Duggal?
Sunil Duggal, currently the only woman MP from Haryana to reach the Lok Sabha, was born on April 29, 1968 in Rohtak. After receiving her initial education, she did her MSc in Chemistry and is the only woman MP to do so. Sunila Duggal’s husband Rajesh Duggal is IPS. Sunita Duggal is a member of BJP’s National Executive Committee. Apart from this, she is the Vice President of Haryana unit of BJP.
Sunita Duggal, who was in the Income Tax Department for about 22 years, took VRS in the year 2014 and then started her political innings. However, she did not have a good start and she lost the assembly elections. After this, in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, he tried his luck on a BJP ticket and registered a big victory.
The seat from where Sunil Duggal won the Lok Sabha elections is considered a stronghold of the Indian National Lok Dal. However, Congress has also had a good influence on this seat and 9 times Congress got a chance to taste victory from this seat. But in 2019, BJP showed that charisma which till date had not done and the credit goes to Sunita Duggal.
