T20 World Cup 2022: ICC changes the rules regarding semi-finals, this will be the decision in the event of rain

T20 World Cup matches are being played in Australia. However, there were many such matches which were washed away due to rain. Because of this, the ICC has made major changes in its rules. According to the news, if the semi-final and final match is interrupted due to rain or any other reason, then during that time the Duckworth-Lewis rule will apply only after both the teams have played 10-10 overs. Let us tell you that earlier it used to be implemented only after five-five overs of the game and the decision used to be made on the basis of that.

Many matches have been canceled due to rain. In such a situation, cricket fans are apprehensive that even the semi-final and final matches may not get washed away due to rain. This is the reason that now the ICC has changed the rule and has kept a reserve day for semi-final and final matches. That is, if it rains in the semi-final and final match and both the teams do not get a chance to play 10-10 overs, then this match will be played in the reserve day. Another decision regarding the semi-finals is that if there is no result even in the reserve day, then the team that tops the group stage will reach the final.

The final match will be played in Melbourne on 13 November. So far many matches have been washed out in this tournament due to rain. New Zealand have reached the semi-finals from Group 1 while the Indian team is currently on top in Group 2.
