T20 World Cup 2022: India set a target of 180 runs for Netherlands, Rohit-Kohli’s brilliant innings
In the T20 World Cup, India set a target of 180 runs in front of Netherlands in the second match today. India scored 179 runs for the loss of 2 wickets. Netherlands need 180 runs to win. India’s start though was slow. Vice captain K Rahul did not perform well even today and was dismissed after scoring just 9 runs. India got the first blow on the score of 11 runs. Scored just 32 runs in the first power play in India. However, later there was a good partnership between Virat Kohli and captain Rohit Sharma. Rohit Sharma was dismissed for 53 runs in 39 balls with the help of four fours and three sixes. After this, there was a strong partnership between Suryakumar Yadav and Virat Kohli. During this, India scored runs at a tremendous pace and took the team to the big target.
Virat played an innings of 62 runs off 44 balls which included 3 fours and 2 sixes. At the same time, Suryakumar Yadav looked in great rhythm today. Suryakumar hit seven fours and one six during his innings. Both the batsmen remained unbeaten. Earlier, India captain Rohit Sharma had won the toss and decided to bat first. Excellent runs were scored from India in the last year. This is the reason why India managed to set a decent score.
