ASB Classic ATP: Cameron Nouri in Auckland ATP semi-finals

Auckland. Cameron Nouri advanced to the next round of the ASB Classic ATP Tour tennis tournament with a 6-1, 6-7, 6-2 win over American Marcos Giron in the quarterfinals of the ASB Classic ATP Tour tennis tournament here on Thursday. The start of the match on Center Court was delayed by two-and-a-half hours due to rain. Born in South Africa and raised in Auckland, Nouri was a regular spectator at ATP tournaments before his family moved to the UK. The spectators on the court greeted him with applause.

Nouri said, “The tournament is like a second home for me in a way. I grew up here and it’s good to be back here. It is very special to play here. I was a fan of this tournament so it’s great to play on this court. On Wednesday, top seed Casper Ruud had to face defeat in the second round. Nouri is now the only seed left in the tournament.
