East Coast Railway to run two new special trains for Hockey World Cup
Bhubaneswar. A day ahead of the opening match of the Men’s Hockey World Cup between India and Spain at Rourkela’s Birsa Munda Stadium on Friday, the East Coast Railway announced a special train between the Odisha capital and Rourkela here. The decision in this regard was taken keeping in view the additional movement of people during the FIH Hockey Men’s World Cup to be held from January 13 to 29 at Kalinga Stadium here and Birsa Munda Hockey Stadium in Rourkela, according to an official release.

Keeping in view the convenience of passengers especially hockey lovers, East Coast Railway said that Bhubaneswar-Rourkela special train will leave Bhubaneswar every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday at 8.25 pm from January 15 to 31. This train will leave from Rourkela side at 11.25 pm on every Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday from January 15 to 31. This train will have one AC-two tier, three AC-three tier, eight sleeper, four second class seating and two guard cum luggage coaches.
