India may have been left disappointed after going wicketless in the first session of the opening Test against Bangladesh on Saturday but bowling coach Paras Mhambrey said his team’s patience paid off in the remaining two sessions. Chasing a target of 513, Bangladesh openers Zakir Hasan (100) and Najmul Hossain Shanto (67) frustrated the Indian bowlers throughout the opening session, putting on a record 124 for the first wicket. But in the next two sessions, India made a comeback to reduce Bangladesh’s score to 272 for six at stumps on the fourth day.
Mhambre said after the end of the fourth day’s play, “Batting was getting easier. But bowling well in the first season gave us the advantage in the next two seasons. “He said,” It was the result of being patient because we knew that the wicket was getting easier and it would be difficult for us.
