Shreyas Iyer told Kishan, did not want to interfere in your privacy, you were in an aggressive mood

Ranchi. Shreyas Iyer did not want to interfere with Ishan Kishan’s privacy during the second ODI against South Africa as the left-handed batsman was batting in an aggressive mood. Kishan displayed a fine example of his attacking batting here on Sunday, scoring 93 runs with the help of four fours and five sixes. He shared a 161-run stand for the third wicket with Iyer (113 not out) as India won the match by seven wickets to level the three-match series.

In a video released on the Twitter handle of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Iyer told Kishan, “I wanted to talk to you but you were in a very aggressive mood and you were batting so I didn’t want to interfere with your privacy.” Iyer said, “Whatever it is, we won the match and we ended with a win. Hope you score a century in the next match. I was disappointed when you missed a century.” Iyer is in the best form of his career at the moment. He has scored four half-centuries and one century in the last six ODIs.

When Iyer was asked about the way he celebrated after completing his second century in ODIs, he said, “I didn’t think of any way to celebrate it happened naturally. I wanted to express my gratitude to the audience. They had come here in large numbers and the atmosphere was full of excitement.” The third match of the series will be played in Delhi on Tuesday.
