Pandit confident of Iyer’s early return

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) head coach Chandrakant Pandit is hopeful that his full-time skipper Shreyas Iyer will return to the side “very soon” and in the Indian player’s absence, Nitish Rana will lead the team in the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Will do well in the role of Iyer has been ruled out of the opening matches of the IPL due to recurring back pain. He also missed the first and fourth Tests against Australia due to this problem.

Pandit said at a press conference on Tuesday night, “Whatever little cricket I have played or coached, I do not pay much attention to things like player unavailability in the team. Iyer’s absence will make a difference because he is important for us but it is really unfortunate. Rana has a lot of IPL experience and has been a part of KKR for the last five seasons. Pandit has full faith in Rana’s leadership abilities. He said, “When we select players and give responsibility to players, we see who is capable. And Nitish is capable. He has been with KKR for a long time and has a good domestic record as well. He lives up to most of the scales.

“I am sure he can handle the role. We do not see whether someone is worthy or not. Every player has different skills. After considering these things, we are confident about our decision. ”Pandit has achieved remarkable success as a coach in domestic cricket. He, however, admitted that there would be a different kind of pressure in the IPL. He said, “Challenges are everywhere. This is also a challenge, but it is a different kind of challenge. Working with experienced players from different countries after domestic cricket is a different challenge.
