Dwayne Bravo Retires From IPL 2023 | Dwayne Bravo retires from IPL, appointed new bowling coach of Chennai Super Kings

Chennai Super Kings has appointed Dwayne Bravo as the bowling coach of the team ahead of IPL 2023. Dwayne Bravo on Friday announced that he has decided to retire from the Indian Premier League and stay on as the bowling coach of Chennai Super Kings. Bravo was not retained by the franchises ahead of the upcoming IPL 2023 auction after being an integral part of the championship-winning teams led by MS Dhoni.

CSK have announced the West Indies all-rounder will be taking a break for a year with Lakshmipathy Balaji as their new bowling coach. Bravo opened up about his excitement about taking on the role and said that he is happy to be a part of IPL history. Dwayne Bravo said that “I am looking forward to this new journey as it is something that I see myself working on after my playing days are over completely. I enjoy working with bowlers And I am excited about this role. From player to coach, I don’t think I need to adjust much because when I am playing, I am always working with the bowlers and one step ahead of the batsmen. Try to come up with plans and ideas to live in. The only difference is I won’t be standing mid-on or mid-off anymore!Bravo said “I never thought that I would become the highest wicket-taker in IPL history. But I am happy to be a part of IPL history!

Bravo is currently the leading wicket-taker in IPL history with 183 scalps in 161 matches. He has been with CSK since 2011 and was a part of their IPL triumphs in 2011, 2018 and 2021.
