India’s Sameer won the silver medal in the junior men’s 25m rapid fire pistol event of the ISSF World Shooting Championships here on Monday. Sonepat’s Sameer made 23 hits in the medal bout and finished second only to China’s Wang Shiwen. Shiven won the gold medal with 25 hits. Liu Yeungpan won the bronze medal. In the medal bouts, three players from China and Sameer had reached. Sameer finished fourth in the qualification with 573 points and then beat Yangpan in the rankings round to make it to the medal round.
Meanwhile, his teammate Udayveer Sidhu also made it to the rankings match but was eliminated after finishing fourth. He finished seventh in the qualification with 569 points.
