The Indian pair of Satkivsairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty is currently ranked number three in the world rankings. The pair, showing a brilliant game, defeated the pair of former world champions Takuro Hoki and Yugo Kobayashi in the quarterfinal match. The game between the two teams went on till 21-14, 21-17 in which Satwik and Chirag won. The match was very easy and in just 40 minutes, the pair of Satwik and Chirag defeated the former champions. By defeating the pair of Japan, the players of India have made it to the semi-finals. As per the data, India’s team of Satwik and Chirag has defeated the fifth seeded pair in Korea Opal 2023. It was Japan’s fourth loss after defeating the former world No. 1 pair.
 
They will compete in the semi-finals
After winning their quarterfinal encounter, Satwik and Chirag will now take on the second seeded Chinese pair of Wei Keng Liang and Chang Wang in the semi-finals. This pair has been the world champion of men’s doubles 2021. In such a situation, the relief of the semi-finals is going to be difficult for the Indian players.
 
PV Sindhu, HS Prannoy and Kidambi Srikanth and other Indians are already out of the tournament. The Indian pair, playing their first tournament after winning the Indonesia Open Super 1000 tournament last month, found it tough to fight till the first six points. But by winning four consecutive points, Satwik-Chirag took the lead.
 
After this, Satwik and Chirag easily won the first game. The Indian pair made a slow start in the second game, trailing 3-6 but recovered well in time to win six consecutive points to lead 14-9. The Japanese pair was also in no mood to give up the game easily as they played aggressively and were helped by ‘unforced’ mistakes by the rival team which leveled the scores at 16-16. Satwik and Chirag upped their game to win and enter the last four stage.
