Reverse swing action of Indian fast bowlers reminded Australia
Wicket-keeper batsman Alex Currie has reminded the Australian team, which has been practicing with a focus on the Indian spinners, that Indian pacers can also prove dangerous with reverse swing in the four-match Test series. Australia has decided not to play practice matches on the tour of India. Instead, he practiced with SG balls on a spinner-friendly pitch in Sydney. “There was a lot of focus on spinners before the Pakistan tour but I found reverse swing very difficult,” Kari told reporters on the sidelines of a four-day training camp here.
He reminded of the practice match in Bengaluru in 2018 when Mohammad Siraj took 11 wickets. He said, “I played a four-day practice match for Australia A against India A in 2018. At that time there was a lot of talk about spin but we forgot how dangerous the fast bowlers of both the teams can be with reverse swing. Kari also referred to the drawn Test series in Sri Lanka in July last year. He said, “We went to Galle for two Tests and the wicket there was also different. That’s why one has to go with an open mind that who will be confronted. What kind of team combination does he come up with?
