Rinku Singh is not far away from making it to the Indian team: Harbhajan
New Delhi. Former spinner Harbhajan Singh is hopeful that Kolkata Knight Riders left-handed batsman Rinku Singh will soon make it into the Indian team in the shorter format after a stellar show in the ongoing Indian Premier League. Rinku, a left-handed batsman, has established himself as a finisher scoring 337 runs in 11 matches at a strike rate of 151. Harbhajan told Star Sports, “Indian team’s cap (debut for the team) will soon be on Rinku’s head. He is an inspirational player. He has worked extremely hard to reach where he is today. Full credit goes to him for having this faith in himself. Her journey is a life lesson and all young children should learn from her.

Another former Indian cricketer Mohammad Kaif also joined Harbhajan’s voice. Kaif said, “Rinku Singh has that maturity. He has very good footwork and tries to rotate the strike. Rinku knows how to convert his form into a good innings and also knows when to fire. He is capable of playing big shots. India have to play five T20 matches in West Indies and America in July and then play three matches each in the shortest format against Afghanistan at home and Ireland at home. Apart from Rinku, Tilak Verma and Jitesh Sharma are contenders for a place in the Indian team.
