Erling Holland sets new record in Premier League, Manchester City reaches top

Manchester. Erling Haaland set a new record in the English Premier League (EPL) by scoring his 35th goal of the season in Manchester City’s 3-0 win over West Ham. The 22-year-old Norwegian striker scored the team’s second goal in the 70th minute to record the most goals in a single Premier League season. Haaland equaled Alan Shearer and Andy Cole’s record when he scored against Fulham last Sunday. After scoring the record, he said, “It’s a great feeling, as is every goal.” Especially to register a win is really important.

Haaland has scored a total of 51 goals in all competitions so far this season. Alan Shearer and Andy Cole held the records when the Premier League season was 42 matches. Now the Premier League season is of 38 matches and Holland has five more matches to play. With this win, Manchester City have overtaken Arsenal to regain the top of the points table. He now has 79 points from 33 matches while Arsenal have 78 points from 34 matches. In another match, Liverpool beat Fulham 1–0.
