Himachal’s Samarth Thakur topped the preliminary round of ‘Fit India Quiz’

Samarth Thakur has topped the country in the preliminary round of the second season of ‘Fit India Quiz (Question based Competition)’. An official of the Sports Authority of India (SAI) gave this information. Hamirpur-based SAI Center of Excellence Assistant Director Manoj Awati said on Friday that Samarth, a student of Auckland House School, Shimla, topped the ‘quiz’ by beating around 62,000 students.

He said that 61,981 students from 16,702 schools in 702 districts across the country appeared in the preliminary round of the ‘quiz’ conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on December 8 and 9 last year. In ‘Fit India Quiz’ students interested in sports and fitness can participate and compete at the state and national level. Avati said that the second season of ‘Fit India’ National Fitness and Sports Quiz’ will be held on August 29. Union Ministers Anurag Singh Thakur, Dharmendra Pradhan and Nishith Pramanik will be present in this program. This ‘quiz’ gives students and schools a chance to win cash prizes of over Rs 3.25 crore.
