Discussion on poster of ‘Dayabai’ biopic starring Bollywood’s tigress Bidita Bagh

‘Daya Bai’ is a challenge in the list of upcoming biopics. Based on the life of a social worker, the film is directed by Mr Varun and stars Bidita Bagh as the lead actress whose breakout role in ‘Babumoshai Bandookbaaz’ earned her the name of Bollywood’s tigress. The biopic is based on Kerala-born social activist Daya Bai and according to the film makers, it will hit the big screen soon.

Born in Kerala in 1940 as Mercy Mathew, Daya Bai is a social activist working for the betterment of the tribal community in India, especially in central India.

Shedding more light on which the last schedule of Daya Bai is on floors in Madhya Pradesh, the producer said in an official statement, “Daya Bai” narrates how a Malayali woman Mercy Mathew transformed herself into Daya Bai, a renowned social worker. Gave. His works for the betterment of the tribals of Madhya Pradesh will also be featured. While some portions will be shot in Kerala, there will be sequences in Madhya Pradesh as well.”

The biopic has also made its way into other major international film festivals such as the Big Apple Film Festival, New York and the By Design Film Festival, Washington. Actress Bidita Bagh won the Best Actress award at the Noida International Film Festival. The film has received tremendous response from the audience.
