La Liga: Barcelona beat Betis with Lewandowski’s goal

Madrid. A goal from Robert Lewandowski helped Barcelona strengthen their claim to the La Liga title with a 2-1 win over Real Betis here on Wednesday. With this win, the team touched the 50-point mark. Barcelona have 50 points with 16 wins from 19 matches, while second-placed Real Madrid have 42 points from 18 matches. Lewandowski scored his first goal in the league since October to secure Barcelona’s sixth straight win in the competition.

The Polish legend now has 14 goals in the current league season. He is now at the forefront of this matter. Rafinha scored the first goal for Barcelona in the 65th minute of the match while Lewandowski doubled the team’s lead in the 80th minute. Defender Jules Cunde scored an own goal in the 85th minute of the match that reduced Barcelona’s margin of victory.
