With so many young players, it will take time for Delhi Capitals to become a good team: Ganguly

Delhi Capitals Director of Cricket Sourav Ganguly feels the team is full of ‘uncapped’ youngsters who will take their time to become a ‘winning’ team and everyone should give it the much-needed time. Delhi Capitals are languishing at the bottom of the 10-team table with four consecutive losses and the former India skipper admitted that it is frustrating. Ganguly said, “These defeats are definitely disappointing, especially because of the way this team has been playing since 2019. But these kinds of things keep happening in sports. It’s never easy when you lose. We have so many young players in our team and it will take us time to become a good team. ,

But Ganguly insisted that the players need to try to find out what went wrong. He said, “It can only happen from here and I hope the youngsters do well on a high-scoring wicket in Bengaluru.” You have to find a way to come back. This has happened to everyone. Ganguly said, “When you play for a long time, you go through such phases. It’s like looking inside yourself and asking how can I change this? ,

Asked on what aspects the team needs to improve, Ganguly said, “We have to bat much better. Akshar has been brilliant, that’s why we have been able to score above 170 runs. But we need other players to do well. Lalit bowled well on a Delhi wicket. But the most important thing for us is to stick together and get runs on the scoreboard. The Delhi Capitals team will face Royal Challengers Bangalore in the next match on Saturday.
