Team India captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and elected to bowl against Australia in the World Test Championship final at The Oval on Wednesday. India have landed with four fast bowlers and a spinner in Ravindra Jadeja. Earlier too many former cricketers and fans alike had expected India to go with one spinner due to the pitch condition and forecast of cloudy weather in London and leading off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin had to sit out of the XI Is.

During the toss, Nasser Hussain asked Rohit how tough it was to get ‘Ashwin- the world’s No. 1 bowler out’, with 869 points to his name, at the top of the ICC Test rankings. Rohit admitted that it was a difficult decision for the team managers. He said that it is always difficult. He has been a match winner for us for many years. So it was very difficult to get them out. But you have to do those things which are important for the team. So, finally we came up with that decision. Rohit further insisted that the conditions have prompted the Indian team to go for four fast bowlers and one spinner in their bowling combination. “The conditions and weather are also cloudy. There will not be much change in pitch. Four fast bowlers and one spinner. Spinner is Jadeja.

Captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and decided to bowl first in the final of the World Test Championship (WTC) against Australia here on Wednesday. India has decided to go with four fast bowlers in this match due to which off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has not found a place in the playing XI. Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj, Umesh Yadav and all-rounder Shardul Thakur will play the role of fast bowlers while all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja is the only spinner in the playing XI. Australia has also given a chance to fast bowler Scott Boland in this match.
