Indian junior shooters win four more gold medals at World Championships

Indian junior shooters continued their stellar run with four more gold medals at the ISSF World Championships here on Tuesday. With the help of these four medals, India’s total medal tally has reached 20, which includes nine gold, three silver and eight bronze medals. It is second only to China. China has won a total of 37 medals including 18 gold medals. On the sixth day of the competition, the Air Pistol team of Isha Singh, Shikha Narwal and Varsha Singh won India the first gold medal.

India beat China 16-6 in the gold medal match. After this, the trio of Ramita, Nancy and Tilottama Sen gave India a gold medal in the junior rifle team event. The Indian team defeated China 16-2. The third gold medal for India was won by the men’s air rifle team on the sixth day.
