IND vs BAN 1st Test: India in strong position with Gill and Pujara’s century, Bangladesh will have to score 513 runs to win

At the same time, Cheteshwar Pujara also played an inning of 102 runs in 130 balls while batting fast. He hit 13 fours. Virat Kohli remained unbeaten after scoring 19 runs in 29 balls. Indian captain KL Rahul, however, decided not to follow on after Bangladesh were bundled out for 150 in the first innings. Rahul declared the second innings as soon as Pujara’s century was completed after the dismissal of Gill (110 runs).

Kuldeep, playing his first Test in 22 months, took career-best figures of five for 40. Bangladesh team 55 in the first innings. Could play only 5 overs. Fast bowler Mohammad Siraj took three wickets for 20 runs in 13 overs. Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan handed the ball to spinner Taijul Islam in the second over as pacer Ibadat Hossain was suffering from back pain.
